‘Reflections’

2023-Current

Porcelain, Glazes, Lustres

These works explores the fractured nature of identity in the aftermath of trauma, particularly the ways in which emotional and sexual trauma alter our perception of the self. By casting found mirrors and frames in ceramic, I transform objects of reflection into distorted, fragmented forms—challenging the notion of a stable, cohesive self.

The intentional cracking, tearing, and layering of clay evoke the ways trauma imprints itself on the body and mind, while glazes obscure and erode surfaces, suggesting the instability of memory and self-perception. These works do not seek resolution but instead invite contemplation on resilience, survival, and the shifting ways we navigate our own histories.
